Art Nouveau Tower
"This place was so beautiful, that I nearly collapsed. So many mirrors and so many brass banisters and so many brass door handles brass candelabras - and all polished so perfectly that it resembled a gold palace."
This was written by Bohumil Hrabal, the author of "I served the King of England."
Art Nouveau Tower is a masterpiece of architecture. It is named after Sarah Bernhardt, an actress and singer, and the interior is classic Art Nouveau: blue cleft mosaic with original lighting fixtures, wooden wainscoting and gilded stuccowork. This makes the restaurant a pearl amongst its Prague rivals. The gourmet kitchen offers outstanding French, Czech and international cuisine, and the cafe resembles the traditional cafes found in Paris, while it also echoes the 1920´s Art Nouveau culture that still flourishes in Prague.
